Hi, I’m Jordyn Powell and like every other living organism on this planet I live in a habitat and have my own niche. A habitat is the environment in which I live in and a niche is your job or role. My habitat is a two-story brick house. First, you walk into my garage and then you can enter my basement. There’s a bathroom to the side and an entertainment area in the middle, with a pool table, computer, and a bar as well. Behind the bar is a chalkboard. Then, if you go up the steps you will then come to a landing, with a closet and also my front door. From the landing, you can go upstairs, which will bring you to my living room with a dining room beside it. My kitchen is right off of the dining room and if you go past the dining room there’s a sunroom. Off of the living room when you first go up the steps is a hallway that will lead you to another bathroom, and three bedrooms. Another part of my habitat is my yard, my pool, a fire-ring and a basketball hoop. Out of all the places in my habitat, I spend most of my time outside, in my basement, or in my room.
I of course am not the only one who lives in my habitat. I live with my sister Taylor, my dad Don, my mom Candi, and my dog Murphy. We all have our own niche to make the habitat run smoothly, but we also share a common niche. My niche in my habitat is to do my homework, load and unload the dishes, fold laundry, put away my clothes, empty garbage, clean my room, help clean the pool during the summer, and keep the shoes cleaned up. My sister, mom and I all share a similar niche. We do the dishes, laundry, fold and put away clothes, clean the pool and empty the garbage. Murphy and my dad have different niches than I. My dad doesn’t yard work and other things that need done around the house and Murphy doesn’t do much of anything. I love the habitat I live in and the people I share it with.
No matter how much I love my habitat and niche I do expect it to change as I grow up. First, I would like to go to college at either UNC, NYU, or Penn State and live in the dorms there for my first year, with a roommate. Then, I would like to get an apartment my other 3 years of college with about 3 roommates. I’d also like to try and get in somewhere else for grad school. My dream is to get into Brown University in Rhode Island and finish up school their. After Im done with school I’d like to live in NYC, and start a family. I would also like to later on down the road buy a house in the Hamptons. I plan on being an optometrist, so that would be my niche as well as household chores and making sure all my bills and everything is paid. I have many goals and dreams for after high school and this is how I am hoping my habitat and niche change.
